How many devices do you have that require charging via a USB port? If you are like me way too many. The hassle comes when you try and plug in all those bulky power bricks into a power strip and need to leave the adjacent plug empty because they overlap. You run out of plugs really quickly.
The Anker 5 port USB charger is one of the better solutions out there. This thing is small. It measures about 3.5” long, 1” tall and 2.25” wide. The best and most surprising part is it uses a standard two prong plug! There is no bulky power supply, it’s all imbedded in that little brick. The power cord is about 5'.
The charger is 40w of power at 5v. What’s also good is it will not shutdown if the device requires more power. It will just peg the port at 8amps max. What I also like is all 5 ports are the same. You don’t need to worry about what port has more amps like some other USB chargers. The charger also has no annoying bright LED’s to distract you.
I recommend buying a few short USB cables. I found on my busy desktop the long cables that came with my tablets and phones make for a messy desk. The Anker is compatible with any USB device from companies like Apple, Samsung, HTC, Motorola and many others. So if you have an iPad or Nexus device this will work just fine.
